At SNC, campers engage in a wide range of activities, including nature exploration at our active Nature Center, connecting with animals at the Pet Zoo, and participating in programs from the Department of Natural Resources. They also partake in outdoor adventures like canoeing, fishing, backpacking, horseback riding, archery, Lego, water skiing, arts & crafts, and team-building exercises.

However, SNC is more than just activities—it’s a refuge from screens and pressures, where kids cultivate essential life skills such as leadership, teamwork, and compassion. Through meaningful experiences and supportive role models, we help children grow into confident and capable individuals, who are thoughtful and ready to take on the world.

Kippewa Equestrian Academy

Kippewa Equestrian Academy is a 12-day fully-immersive experience, offered twice a summer for girls entering 4th through 11th grades who really love horses! Girls of all ability levels are welcome. Whether an enthusiastic beginner, an advanced rider, or anything in between, academy campers experience the lifestyle of a horse owner. Located in a unique setting with cabins overlooking the horse turn-outs and rings. Instruction and individual attention is tailored to each rider's level. We teach Huntseat/English style riding. Main focus is helping campers improve or advance their equestrian skills and knowledge with mounted lessons and instruction in horsemanship, horse training, and barn management. Safety is a top priority. We follow safety standards of the Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA).

Daily schedule also includes horse care: cleaning, grooming, tacking/un-tacking, feeding, and learning about horse anatomy and development. In addition to their expertise, our staff provide the individual attention, caring, and fun you find in traditional camp settings!

Camp Kippewa for Girls

Residential girls' summer camp, ages 6-15

Kippewa is a unique all-girls overnight camp in Maine for ages 6 to 15 with two different session lengths available.

Our two week camp, Camp Kippewa Point, offers a complete camp experience in just two weeks! Each session has a distinct beginning and end with campers arriving and departing together.

For both Camp Kippewa Point and Camp Kippewa, we offer extensive Arts programs with studio and fine arts & crafts, along with dance & theater. For Camp Kippewa 3 1/2 weeks - onsite horseback riding facilities host an unbeatable Equestrian program where campers can ride daily. For both camps, Lake Cobbosseecontee is the perfect setting for top-notch Water Sports instruction in waterskiing, sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and kayaking. Our programs also offer a variety of Land Sports including tennis, gymnastics, softball and lacrosse. Campers enjoy the natural setting of Maine with beach days, wilderness hikes, white water rafting, canoe trips and more.

The directors at Kippewa believe every girl needs a safe, fun place to make friends, to learn social, artistic, and athletic skills, and to take childhood's steps toward the independence of adulthood.
