Residential boys' summer camp
A small camp for 125 boys emphasizing outdoor adventure in a non-competitive atmosphere. Campers choose their own schedule and then build skills to increase self confidence. High Rocks is a place for fun and learning, for challenge and adventure, and for living in an environment that is geared to a camper's needs and interests. Aided by a well-trained staff we seek to teach and to inspire lasting skills and values. We offer ongoing opportunities for success, a freedom from inhibiting competitive pressure, and daily instruction in activities which promote rapid development of skills, an increased self-esteem, and a sense of community.
Activities include: Rock climbing, lake and whitewater canoeing, mountain biking, horseback, backpacking, and many more traditional camp activities. Our 1,000 acre facility adjoins a 6,000 acre state forest and is near Pisgah National Forest.

SOAR, Inc.
Wilderness adventure program
For over 30 years, SOAR has provided multi-length, adventure programs for youth diagnosed with ADHD and/or learning disabilities. Recognizing the outdoors provides an ideal classroom where relevant learning can occur and life skills can be taught, emphasis is placed on developing self-confidence, social skills, and problem solving techniques. Courses are co-ed, and are developed for youth ages 8 - 18 with average or above average intelligence and physical aptitude. Staff to student ratio is low, and instructors are hired for qualities of maturity and caring, enabling them to relate to students and enhance their adventure experience.
Activities vary by location and range from snorkeling and kayaking in the Florida Keys; backpacking, and whitewater rafting in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina; surfing and sea kayaking along the California Coast; and horsepacking and fishing in the Wind River Mountains of Wyoming and much more. Specialty courses include a trip to the rainforests of Costa Rica, learning to whitewater kayak and even participating in a western rodeo! New programs incude a Northern California Expedition and a traditional camp model in sunny Florida.

Camp Winnataska

Camp Winnataska, established in 1918, offers "Christian Camping at its Best". Summer camp begins in June for boys and girls ages 6-15 for six, one week sessions with scheduled mini-camps for the younger campers ages 6-8. Camps are all girls or coed. Daily activities include swimming, canoes, horseback riding, recreation, nature study, outdoors, and low ropes course. Night activities include Indian Night, Country Night, "Mission Impossible", and the Pageant of the Holy Grail.
Other camps included in our summer schedule are: Young Teen Asthma Camp and Friends for Life, a camp for special needs campers of all ages. This is just the calendar for the summer but we are open year round for hiking, outings and other events for schools, churches, corporations and families. Camp Winnataska, the second oldest continuous running camp for boys and girls in America, is 20 minutes east of Birmingham.

Valley View Ranch Equestrian Camp

Horse lovers paradise! Since 1954, the purpose of Valley View Ranch has been to help each camper have the full opportunity of horsemanship through instruction, time in the saddle on trails, and the care and responsibility of having her own horse, all a'top beautiful Lookout Mountain. We offer several riding programs and encourage each camper to participate in all of them: English and Hunt Seat; Western Stock Seat and Barrels (Gymkhana); and Vaulting. Each girl can spend as much time as she likes with her favorite horse during her stay!
Ranchers will find the facility comfortable, safe, and spacious. Located on 600 acres of lush pastures, wooded trails, and panoramic views. In addition, the voluntary well-rounded recreational program includes sports, swimming and canoeing, arts and crafts, pottery, gymkhanas and horseshows. Enrollment is limited to 60 girls and is open to ages 8-17.
Skyland Camp for Girls

With a long history of excellence in Appalachian Mountain camping for girls, Skyland maintains a 3:1 ratio of camper to counselor in a close knit, family-like atmosphere. Come join our small, warm camp community. Skyland is limited to 85 campers, ages 6-15. Sessions are 2-6 weeks during June-July.

Camp Toccoa

Established in 1927, Camp Toccoa has been serving youth from all over the US for over 80 years! We are located in Toccoa, Georgia on 175 wooded acres in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Camp Toccoa offers Classic Camp, Horseback Camp and Adventure Camp programs. Activities include archery, canoeing, art and crafts, horseback riding, high ropes, and environmental education. One and two week residential sessions are offered from June to August. One week day camp sessions are offered from June to August for day campers in grades 1-9.
Camp Glen Arden

Glen Arden is nestled among the rhododendron and evergreens in the heart of the breathtaking Blue Ridge Mountains near Tuxedo, North Carolina. Upon entering the Glen Arden gate, one is greeted by a towering three hundred foot waterfall in a woodland filled with 1300 varieties of trees and flowers.
Our staff is chosen because of a demostrated love of children and the ability to teach one of our twenty one activites, including horseback riding, a wilderness program including ecology, landsports, water sports, and performing arts. The staff must be a minimum of nineteen years old and 70% are returning Glen Arden girls who have been through our Junior Counselor/Counselor-in-Training program. There is a 3:1 ratio camper to counselor.

Camp Kateri

Camp Kateri, an ACA accredited camp, provides week-long overnight camping experiences for girls 6-17 years of age. Sessions designed to be age appropriate are developed to help girls get the most out of their out-of-doors camping experience. Campers stay (with girls in their same age group) in cabins, platform tents or treehouses, and participate in daily activities, including flag ceremonies, arts and crafts, hiking, and swimming.
All age level campers come together in all-camp activities, such as campfires, water carnivals, barn dances and cookouts. Girls select and participate in sessions related to activities of interest, including horseback riding, canoeing and kayaking, archery, day trips, nature and adventure.

Seeking Summer Fun? Are you age 10-15 (or finishing fourth through ninth grades)? Then sign up for a week of Adventure with us and our horses! You'll have hours with the horses every day, hours with other animals and nature adventures, creative time, time for games and sports, and plenty of good food.
You'll make new friends and have lots of adventure stories to take back to your old friends. One or more of your new friends will have four legs -- with hooves on the ends of them!
Gwynn Valley Camp
Coed Residential and Day Summer Camp
Since 1935, a summer camp for Boys and Girls, ages 5-14. Offering a farm, wilderness and traditional program that nurtures the child while fostering a connection with the land and the simple joys of childhood. The strength of Gwynn Valley is its nurturing environment in a child centered world where each camper will learn and grow under the guidance of a mature and caring staff. We maintain a camper / staff ratio of 4:1. Our program is a non-competitive, residential camp, offering sessions of 1, 2 and 3 weeks in length. We grow 70% of our food on the farm and operate a 1890's Grist Mill as part of our varied program. We also operate a small day camp for children K-4th grade.
Activities at our coed camp include: Horseback Riding, Outdoor Living Skills, Farm, Mountain Biking, Texture Crafts, Rock Climbing, Grist Mill, Waterfront, Whitewater Kayaking & Canoeing, Pioneer Crafts, Sports, Fine Arts, Web of Life, and Backpacking.
Camp Woodmont
Residential coed summer camp
A smaller-sized traditional summer camp with extremely close owner supervision. Camp owner Jane Bennett, along with her two children, camp directors Tyran Bennett and Alyson Bennett Gondek are hands-on camp directors with extensive qualifications (see below).
All counseling staff are college students and undergo extensive interviews, background checks and on-site director-led training including five days of climbing and high ropes training led by nationally known trainers, a four-day American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid certification class led by camp director and Red Cross instructor Tyran Bennett; and Archery certification. Both directors are certified horseback riding instructors and we also send staff to a horseback safety clinic. We top off all this specialty training with a full week of camp policy and activities training immediately prior to camp start.
Our family-type atmosphere means we can get to know every camper; it gives younger campers a feeling of reassurance and belonging and older campers a chance to grow and contribute in a community of support. Our traditional program includes extensive arts/crafts and performing arts as well as sports, aquatics, horseback riding, high adventure and much more.

Eagle's Nest Camp emphasizes the child's total independent development through a progressive self-elected program, intimate contact with the natural environment, and close community life. Children learn what it means to belong to rocks, rivers, wilderness and to community.
Specializing in canoeing, rock climbing, wilderness trekking, art, music, drama and community life. Located in the Little River Valley of Western North Carolina, near Brevard. 1, 2 and 3-week sessions available.
Camp Cosby YMCA
Residential coed summer camp
Since 1922, YMCA Camp Cosby has set the standard of excellence in quality overnight camping in the Southeast. Located only one hour from Birmingham and two hours from Atlanta, boys and girls ages 6-16 have the opportunity to grow, learn, and challenge themselves during week long sessions. Camp staff provide a friendly, safe, diverse, and most of all fun community that includes a mix of cabin life and traditional camp activities. As part of our mission, all campers have the opportunity to experience every activity at Camp Cosby for one low tuition cost.
Our sessions include over 20 activities such as horseback riding, mini bikes, archery, tubing, wake boarding, aqua jump, water sports, the blob, Alpine tower, water skiing, Iceberg and specialty camps. Camp Cosby also offer Expedition adventure trips (ages 11-15) kayaking, canoeing, caving, rock climbing, and bouldering in central and north Alabama. Blue Star is a sanctuary from the stresses of the "real world" where campers gain independence skills and self-esteem. Through the preceding six decades of rapid social change, Blue Star has continued to meet the essential developmental needs of children. Blue Star has been a thread consistently woven into the tapestry of the Jewish-American experience. We now welcome summer campers from thirty-five states as well as Europe, Israel, Central and South America.
Our professional instructors challenge campers to succeed in many skill areas while cabin counselors affirm that it is possible to live in peace, friendship and harmony.
The Vineyard
Coed Camp with Residential & Day Camp Sessions
The Vineyard is more than just an outstanding sports camp and conference center. It is a ministry dedicated to discipleship. From the beginning, it has been our threefold goal to share God's love, demonstrate (through the lives of our staff) holy living, and explain the challenge of discipleship. Most of our campers come from Christian backgrounds (Catholic and Protestant), but any child of any conviction is welcomed.
Prior to arriving at the camp, each camper chooses a "major". Boys go to their majors in the afternoon, girls in the morning. While boys are at majors, girls attend electives, and vice versa. The electives (two difference choices each day) are chosen at breakfast. The majors offer in-depth instruction, two hours per day, for the entire week.

Located on 550 acres in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina, Camp Rockmont is an interdenominational Christian summer camp for boys ages 7-16.
Under Christian leadership and in a closely controlled environment, Rockmont seeks to provide each camper with fun and adventure through appropriate challenges; a better understanding and respect for self and others through group living and shared experiences; an appreciation and concern for the environment; greater self-reliance, self-respect, self-confidence, and self-esteem; stronger Christian values; and a greater understanding of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.

A small camp for 125 boys emphasizing outdoor adventure in a non-competitive atmosphere. Campers choose their own schedule and then build skills to increase self confidence. High Rocks is a place for fun and learning, for challenge and adventure, and for living in an environment that is geared to a camper's needs and interests. Aided by a well-trained staff we seek to teach and to inspire lasting skills and values. We offer ongoing opportunities for success, a freedom from inhibiting competitive pressure, and daily instruction in activities which promote rapid development of skills, an increased self-esteem, and a sense of community.
Activities include: Rock climbing, lake and whitewater canoeing, mountain biking, horseback, backpacking, and many more traditional camp activities. Our 1,000 acre facility adjoins a 6,000 acre state forest and is near Pisgah National Forest.
