The Road Less Traveled

Community Service, Language, Adventure Expeditions, Global Perspectives

Taking The Road Less Traveled is the adrenaline rush you get from running a class III rapid in a canyon so deep you can't see the tops of the rock walls; the rainbow scintillating through the spray of a waterfall we just happened to stumble upon; the shadow a mountain casts on the world below at sunrise... It is shouting out your order for a kilo of tomatoes in a noisy street market in Sevilla or being invited into a monk's quarters for tea in a small Northern Indian monastery. It's paddling a boat filled with sand and small rocks to make cement on a remote beach in the San Blas Islands... The Road Less Traveled is removing ourselves from the familiar spaces we know too well, and venturing into places that inspire us not only to explore our surroundings, but also ourselves.

Service Learning Programs offer 72-80 hours of service work, language immersion and adventure activities. Adventure Expeditions offer rock-climbing, backpacking, ice and snow mountaineering, whitewater rafting, kayaking, desert hiking and trekking. Language Programs offer 36-75 hours of formal language instruction, language immersion, adventure and cultural activities. Global Perspectives programs offer cultural immersion and adventure activities. Program length varies from 2-6 weeks.

Wellspring United Kingdom

Residential Coed Fitness and Weight Loss Camp

Developed by leading researchers from the U.S. and Europe, Wellspring UK is among the most effective weight loss programmes for children and adolescents. Wellspring UK includes a Lower Camp for ages 11 - 18 years old, plus an Upper Camp for young adults aged 18 - 24. Both Upper and Lower Camps are geared to the capabilities and expectations of that age group to maximize effectiveness. Of course, our focus is not simply weight loss, but on changing behaviour so the weight loss continues.

On campus, we utilise the first-rate facilities for delicious and nutritious food, nutrition and culinary instruction, team sports, personal training, and fun with staff and friends. From here, we venture into South Somerset, as we explore the local rivers, coastline, towns, and beautiful countryside. There is a reason people from all over the United Kingdom, Europe, and the Middle East come to Somerset for their holiday - the location and scenery offer an amazing opportunity to explore and get active. From cycling, climbing, scrambling, and kayaking, the area offers an active lifestyle.
